Skyrim DLC -Redguard
Good news for Elder scrolls fans like me. It seems that Bethesda have been working on something fairly big related the Elder Scrolls series. Zenimax has just renewed their trademark for REDGAURD for the fourth time! Zenimax first got the trademark of REDGAURD way back in march 2011 and have been renewing it ever since (damn, time flies). Now it’s February of 2013 and they renewed it again. So this means something big Elder Scrolls related is coming.
There is no word on when the GOTY edition of “Skyrim” will come out. This is sort of odd because next gen is coming quick and one would think Bethesda would try to profit a little more from “Skyrim.” The only reason Bethesda hasn’t announced a GOTY addition because there must be one last adventure to be had in “Skyrim.”
The most likely scenario is that this means a big chunk of “Skyrim” DLC that is around shivering isles size and will be release on Xbox live first. This DLC would most likely take the player somewhere in the providence of hammerfell, the home of the redguards. It would be interesting to see a whole new environment in “Skyrim” and the design choices Bethesda would make in a bold new area.
I wouldn’t throw out the possibility that this could also be a whole new “Elder Scrolls” game. At the end of 2010 “Bethesda softworks” finished voice acting for “Skyrim.” So I imagine most of 2011 was spent finalizing the game. The Elder Scrolls “Redguard could be a new game the rest of team started during the final stages in “Skyrim.” It would make sense that Bethesda would continue to make another addition to the franchise after “skyrim.” I really doubt that Bethesda is going to walk away from the massive sells of “skyrim” to continue the “fallout” franchise and wait three years down the line for the next scrolls game. The fact that the domain was first filed before “skyrim” released seems like a lot of extra preparation for dlc. New game seems more likely as more time goes by.
With nextgen around the corner it puts Bethesda in an awkward position. They will have to announce soon to build up hype and not to be forgotten by all the next gen news
`A less imaginative scenario is it has something to do with the MMO game being made. Highly unlikely because why wouldn’t bethesda trademark other races.
Redguard is a human race for those not familiars with the series. The Redguard in Hammerfell were the first race to rebel against the Thalmor. The home of the Redguards is the providence of Hammerfell.
Hammerfell is located southwest of skyrim and borders skyrim. The environment of Hammerfell is mostly a rocky desert the biggest desert is alik’r desert. Hammerfell has a huge grassy coastline as well. Past the coast lies the tropical island of Stros M’Kai.
Stros M’Kai seems to be the most likely dlc scenario. It’s everything that makes a dlc good; a new environment, a confine island, and a different culture. Stros M’Kai also houses a large town and that gets its name from.
My prediction – “Skyrim DLC will be released in the summer of 2013. It will take the player to the island of Stros M’Kai and the dragon born will watch the redgaurd rebellion of the thalmor unfold.”
